Parent Checklist

Here are some important questions to ask when you are visiting a childcare center. Asking the right questions can not only ensure the safety of your child but it can save a lot of time in the finding the right center for you and your child.

  • Are there an plenty of age-appropriate children's literature?   
  • Do teachers receive continuing education?   
  • What type of educational resources do the teachers use? Ask for examples.   
  • What types of activities are offered for your child to participate in?
  • Is the program based on age-appropriate learning objectives?
  • Do the children have enough daily outdoor play with access to age appropriate playground equipment?   
  • How do the children interact with the teachers?
  • Are there ways for parents to get involved at the center?
  • What types of nutritional meals are offered to your child?
  • Do you feel comfortable in the center? If so then you know your child will too!
